Last Bastion of the Living by Rhiannon Frater
Cover Reveal: I’m So Sick’ about this one! This author really knows how real you right in to her work.
The Bastion was humanity’s last hope against the fearsome undead creatures known as the Inferi Scourge. A fortified city with a high wall, surrounded by lush land rich with all the resources needed to survive, protected by high mountain summits, and a massive gate to secure the only pass into the valley, the Bastion became the last stronghold of the living on earth. But one fateful day, the gate failed and the Inferi Scourge destroyed the human settlements outside the walls and trapped the survivors inside the city. Now decades later, the last remaining humans are struggling to survive in a dying city as resources and hope dwindle.
Vanguard Maria Martinez has lived her whole life within the towering walls of steel. She yearns for a life away from the overcrowded streets, rolling blackouts, and food shortages, but there is no hope for anyone as long as the Inferi Scourge howl outside the high walls. Her only refuge from the daily grind is in the arms of her lover, Dwayne Reichardt, an officer in the Bastion Constabulary. Both are highly-decorated veterans of the last disastrous push against the Inferi Scourge. Their secret affair is her only happiness.
Then one day Maria is summoned to meet with a mysterious representative from the Science Warfare Division and is offered the opportunity to finally destroy the Inferi Scourge in the valley and close the gate. The rewards of success are great, but she will have to sacrifice everything, possibly even her life, to accomplish the ultimate goal of securing the future of humanity and saving it from extinction..
Shannon Mayer is a new author coming in to the scene with Zombie fiction titles ,.. (Nevermore Trilogy )
Sundered (Nevermore Trilogy, #1)
A miracle drug, Nevermore, spreads like wildfire throughout the world allowing people to eat what they want, no matter how unhealthy it is and yet still lose weight. It is everything the human population has ever dreamed of and Mara is no different. Only a simple twist of fate stops her from taking the drug.
As the weeks roll by, it becomes apparent that Nevermore is not the miracle it claimed. A true to life nightmare, the drug steals the very essence that makes up humanity and unleashes a new and deadly species on the world, a species bent on filling its belly. Locked down within their small farm home, Mara and her husband Sebastian struggle against increasingly bad odds, fighting off marauders and monsters alike.
But Sebastian carries a dark secret, one that more than threatens to tear them apart, it threatens to destroy them both and the love
they have for each other.
The secret forces Mara to make the ultimate choice. Will she live for love, or will she live to survive?
Bound (Bk.2)

A brilliant scientist whose love for his lost wife drives him to madness.
And a new pack of Nevermore .
There is also a 3rd to the sequel in which I will get to, but let explain to you about the frustrations I went threw just to get the book. The only place that I could locate it was Amazon for the kindle. Well I do not have one .So what are those who don’t have one suppose to do. Not even for the Nook and of course that was the only other form of format I had. Let me stress I do have the kindle for PC on my desk top. But who really wants to sit on a computer to read? I very well don’t . So I hunted the author down, to ask her how can I get a copy. She was one of the NICEST people I ever talk to. She is actually going to send me a paperback copy threw the mail . So then I can review it for my blog and I can also just catalog it and put it on the library shelf . Because remember I am a Librarian asst. So this would also be a great way to get her out there and known. I thought this is the least that I could do for her. Thanks again Shannon.
